Seasonal Guide
Every season is stunning.
The garden transforms with the seasons. Here's what to expect and when to book.
Spring (March-May)
Cherry blossoms peak late April. Book early—this is the most requested season. Magnolias, daffodils, and new growth everywhere.
Summer (June-August)
Roses in full bloom, lush greenery, lily pads. Best in early morning or golden hour to avoid heat.
Fall (September-November)
Golden and crimson foliage throughout the garden. The Japanese garden is spectacular in fall color.
Winter (December-February)
The Conservatory is your best friend—tropical warmth and green all winter. Bare trees outside create dramatic, minimal compositions.

Common questions.
Do I need a photography permit?
For handheld camera sessions (no tripods, lighting equipment, or assistants), no permit is needed. We handle any permit requirements for larger productions—it's included in the package.
When do the cherry blossoms bloom?
Typically late April through early May, depending on the weather. We monitor the bloom forecast closely and will help you time your session perfectly. Book early—cherry blossom sessions sell out weeks in advance.
Is it crowded during cherry blossom season?
Yes, especially weekends. We book early morning sessions (the garden opens at 8am on weekends) to get photos before the crowds arrive. Weekday sessions are significantly quieter.
Can we shoot in the Conservatory if it rains?
Absolutely. The Conservatory is our rain plan and is stunning in its own right—tropical plants, palms, and gorgeous light filtering through glass.
Is there parking?
Street parking is limited. The garden is easily accessible via the 2/3 to Eastern Parkway or the B/Q to Prospect Park. We'll coordinate the best entrance based on where we're starting.
