Digitals should communicate your current appearance. Follow the requested framing, clothing, background, file size, and editing rules rather than treating them like a fashion editorial.

A focused test

Use a test shoot to explore a particular commercial, lifestyle, movement, or editorial direction. A clear purpose is more useful than trying every style in one session.

A portfolio gap

Look at your existing book and identify what is missing. You may need a convincing commercial smile, a full-length frame, or a different energy rather than another version of your strongest image.

A usable selection

Agree on edited-image counts and intended uses. Comp-card design, printing, hair and makeup, and agency submissions are separate unless explicitly included in your quote.

Share the agency or casting page and requested image types. Requirements can differ, so a generic submission checklist should not override them.

A focused reference set

For a test shoot, bring a few references with a reason for each: light, energy, styling, or framing. Make clear which images are already in your book.

The details before the date

Confirm outfits, grooming, editing, file delivery, usage, and any crew. If an applicant is under 18, involve a parent or guardian in planning and booking.

What happens after you inquire?

1. Confirm the brief. Share your goal, rough date, and the package you are considering. We clarify the scope and availability.
2. Review the photographer. Ask to see relevant work and discuss setting, approach, final files, and delivery timing.
3. Agree before booking. Confirm the written scope, quote, usage, payment terms, and any separate costs before securing the date.

The optional $100 priority deposit after intake is credited toward the session but does not reserve a date by itself. A date is secured only after availability, scope, the booking agreement, and the required booking retainer are confirmed in writing.

Not always. Read the agency's official application requirements first. Simple, accurate images may be enough for an initial submission.

Will you get me signed?

No. Signal provides photography coordination and sessions, not representation or guaranteed agency access. Hiring a photographer does not guarantee work.

Are digitals retouched like portfolio images?

They should follow the recipient's requirements and accurately show your current appearance. Agree on any permitted processing before the session; avoid edits that change your features or proportions.

Is a comp card included?

The packages list delivered photographs. Layout, printing, and additional crops should be confirmed separately if you need a finished comp card.

When will I receive the photographs?

Agree on the delivery date, selection process, and editing scope before booking. Mention a launch or application deadline in your inquiry so rush availability and any additional charge can be discussed.

What usage is included?

Consumer packages include personal use, while headshot and model packages include professional self-promotion. Business packages can include website, organic social, recruiting, sales, press, and internal use. Paid advertising, outdoor campaigns, resale, and third-party use are licensed separately.
