Interior Design Portfolio Photographer NYC

A designer's portfolio should show more than the size of a space. Plan images that explain the material choices, relationships and details you worked to create, with enough context to make the project feel complete.

Quoted for your brief

Photographer, scope and delivery agreed before booking

Ask about this shoot

Start with your idea and rough date. We’ll work out the details.

white and brown living room set
Illustrative photography. Ask to see your proposed photographer’s relevant work.

Photograph the decisions that made the room.

For interior designers and architects documenting a finished residential or commercial project for their own portfolio, proposals or agreed editorial uses.

A listing aims to explain a property quickly; a design portfolio explains authorship and choices. We discuss fewer deliberate compositions, detail relationships and the project's visual story rather than promising the widest possible view of every room.

The photographs have a job to do

A plan built around your brief.

01

Scout the light and access

Discuss window direction, room readiness and occupancy. Some views may work best at different points in the day.

02

Build an anchor composition

Establish a main view that explains the space, then add closer relationships and selected details that support it.

03

Review the project as a sequence

Look for continuity across rooms and scales. A portfolio story needs more than a collection of disconnected attractive corners.

Example: a compact apartment redesign

A living-room anchor, a view through to the kitchen, one joinery detail and a bedroom composition could communicate a small project more clearly than 30 similar wide shots. The final list depends on the design and delivery needs; this is a planning example rather than a fixed package.

Three things that help us plan.

Your design argument
Name the three decisions the photographs must show: a material transition, a difficult small-space solution, a lighting scheme or an important sightline.
A prioritized room list
Mark essential views, useful details and optional frames. Include current phone photographs so the planned scope reflects the finished space.
Every intended user
List your firm, collaborators and potential editorial submissions. Agree who can use the files and for which purposes before the shoot.

Scope before surprises.

Custom design-portfolio quote. Room count alone does not capture styling, lighting, detail work, access and publication requirements. Listing packages serve a different brief.

Confirm owner permission, occupancy, building access and who will move furniture or style the space. Protect finishes and establish limits before shifting anything. Discuss visible art, identifying possessions and any publication embargo. Magazine placement and permission from other project contributors are not included promises.

Write a room-by-room interior photography brief

Before you book.

Can I book a standard listing package?

Only if its scope meets the brief. Design documentation often needs a separate estimate for styling, detail views and intended uses.

Can contractors share the photos?

List those parties in advance so appropriate licenses can be agreed. Paying for a shoot does not by itself define everyone's usage.

Do you guarantee magazine publication?

No. We can plan around an editor's supplied specifications, but editorial selection remains with the publication.

The optional $100 priority deposit after intake is credited toward the session but does not reserve a date by itself. A date is secured only after availability, scope, the booking agreement, and the required booking retainer are confirmed in writing.

Consumer packages include personal use, while headshot and model packages include professional self-promotion. Business packages can include website, organic social, recruiting, sales, press, and internal use. Paid advertising, outdoor campaigns, resale, and third-party use are licensed separately.

Tell us what you’re planning.

We’ll clarify the brief, check photographer fit and availability, and confirm a written scope before you book.
