A portfolio reviewer cannot walk around your sculpture or move closer to the surface of a painting. Plan photographs that explain the work through a clear overall view, selected details and useful scale or installation context.

Documentation and an atmospheric artist portrait are different deliverables. This inquiry is for images of the work itself. Museum-grade reproduction, scanning, color-managed print proofing and specialist handling require an explicitly agreed technical scope.

Separate overall and detail views
An overall image establishes the work; a detail needs a reason, such as showing material, scale or construction.
Deliver an organized set
Keep filenames tied to the inventory and identify alternate views consistently. Confirm color and crop expectations with the final recipient.
Three things that help us plan.
- An artwork inventory
- List title or inventory ID, medium, dimensions and number of pieces. Flag glazing, metallic paint, texture, fragile edges and anything that cannot be moved.
- The submission instructions
- Share file size, pixel dimensions, format, view count and naming requirements. A portfolio website and a print reproduction may need different files.
- Handling and access
- Identify who is authorized to move or install each piece and where the photographs can be made. Do not assume transport, insurance or art handling is included.
Scope before surprises.
Custom documentation quote. Medium, size, surface, installation, image count and intended reproduction determine the scope; ordinary product rates are not a fine-art reproduction promise.
NYC studios can be tight. Share approximate working distance, wall access, loading arrangements and the largest piece's dimensions. Do not remove frames, glazing or attachments solely for photography without the artist's informed handling plan. The studio inspiration image is not evidence of Signal's artwork-reproduction work; request relevant photographer samples.

Can you guarantee an exact color match?
No universal screen-to-object match can be promised. Discuss the intended use, color workflow and any reference or proofing requirement before booking.
Can you photograph sculpture?
Describe its dimensions, materials and desired views so we can assess photographer fit and setup. Fragile or specialized work may need a different production.
Will the images satisfy a grant application?
We can plan around supplied requirements, but the applicant remains responsible for checking current instructions and submitting the right files.
The optional $100 priority deposit after intake is credited toward the session but does not reserve a date by itself. A date is secured only after availability, scope, the booking agreement, and the required booking retainer are confirmed in writing.
Consumer packages include personal use, while headshot and model packages include professional self-promotion. Business packages can include website, organic social, recruiting, sales, press, and internal use. Paid advertising, outdoor campaigns, resale, and third-party use are licensed separately.
