What does the session need to solve?
A look is a deliberate change in wardrobe, expression or photographic treatment. It is not the same as a final retouched photograph. A new shirt alone may add little if the expression and purpose remain identical. Choose the smallest session that addresses a real gap, and confirm the final-image count separately.

03 / Prepare a useful brief
Three things to decide before booking.
Bring the actual requirement
Share the role or application instructions and any representative feedback. Identify which existing image is still useful and which one needs replacement. Do not send account passwords. A submission deadline includes selection and editing time, not just the shoot date.
Test complete outfits
Photograph each option on your phone, including a seated view. Check neckline, collar, fit and layers near the face. Bring your usual glasses if you wear them, and flag reflections for the photographer to assess. Confirm changing space and the agreed number of looks before packing.
Agree what arrives afterward
Confirm proofs versus final retouched files, selection rounds, delivery date, file formats and the requested crops. The 1 Look catalog includes 2–3 retouched selects; counts for a broader session belong in its written scope. Printing, submission fees and profile management are separate.
04 / An illustrative plan
Example: replacing one dated image without rebuilding everything
Review your existing set beside a recent everyday photograph. If the main problem is an outdated haircut or appearance, one current portrait may be more useful than four unrelated new looks.
If two genuinely different uses remain, name them in plain language: a warmer open expression and a more restrained portrait, for example. These are illustrative directions, not casting categories that guarantee work.
Test the primary outfit and background first. Make the expression readable at the intended thumbnail size before spending time on optional clothing changes.
Select for present-day likeness and the actual brief. Check the export in the destination’s preview and keep the original delivered file. Ask for any extra crops or retouching before assuming they are included.

Do I need theatrical and commercial headshots?
Only if they serve your actual submission needs. Bring the casting instructions or representative’s feedback. Different expression and tone can matter more than the label on the package.
Will you change my face in retouching?
Agree the editing approach before booking. Your headshot should remain recognizable as the person who attends the audition; do not plan around changing facial structure or permanent features.
Are more looks always better?
No. Extra looks are useful when they communicate a meaningful difference. Time spent changing clothing can displace work on your essential portrait.
Which image should be my main photo?
Choose the current image that best serves the specific application. Backstage’s linked instructions explain selecting a primary photo for each application; other platforms and notices have their own requirements.
Usage and booking
Consumer packages include personal use, while headshot and model packages include professional self-promotion. Business packages can include website, organic social, recruiting, sales, press, and internal use. Paid advertising, outdoor campaigns, resale, and third-party use are licensed separately.
The optional $100 priority deposit after intake is credited toward the session but does not reserve a date by itself. A date is secured only after availability, scope, the booking agreement, and the required booking retainer are confirmed in writing.
