Common questions.

Do we need to bring witnesses?

NYC requires one witness for your marriage. If you don't have one, we can serve as your witness at no extra charge—we've done it many times!

How does the Marriage Bureau process work?

You'll check in, wait briefly, then have a short ceremony (usually 2-3 minutes). The whole process takes 30-60 minutes depending on how busy it is. We'll be there throughout.

What days/times are best?

The Marriage Bureau is open Monday-Friday. Early morning appointments tend to be less crowded. We recommend mid-week if your schedule allows.

Can we do photos somewhere else after?

Absolutely—that's what most couples do! After the ceremony, we'll head to your choice of NYC locations for portraits. Brooklyn Bridge and Central Park are popular choices.

What should we wear?

Whatever makes you feel amazing! Some couples go full formal, others keep it casual-chic. There's no dress code at City Hall.
