Restaurant Menu Photographer NYC

A customer should understand the dish before tapping its name. Plan a consistent set of photographs that shows your actual portions, ingredients and presentation, with a kitchen schedule that keeps the food looking fresh.

$550–$850

10–15 dishes, clean styling

Ask about this shoot

Start with your idea and rough date. We’ll work out the details.

Make the menu easier to order from.

For restaurants launching online ordering, filling missing menu images or replacing an inconsistent set. This page focuses on individual ordering decisions, rather than a full restaurant-interior or advertising campaign.

One dish listing and a homepage food spread have different jobs. We separate item photographs, category images and marketing scenes in the brief, and do not promise approval or sales results from a delivery platform.

The photographs have a job to do

A plan built around your brief.

01

Approve one representative dish

Set the light, background, framing and portion presentation before moving through the list.

02

Group by practical setup

Plan overhead-friendly dishes together and give tall foods the view they need. Sequence delicate items so they reach the camera promptly.

03

Match files to the menu

Use agreed names or item identifiers and check each finished image against its listing. Track missing dishes before wrapping.

Example: a 12-item lunch menu

Prioritize core entrées, photograph hot dishes as they are ready, and leave drinks or stable sides for an appropriate point in the sequence. A sandwich may need a side view while a bowl benefits from seeing its contents. A mixed-table spread can be a separate marketing image, not a substitute for individual items.

Three things that help us plan.

A menu with stable item names
Mark each dish, variant and priority. Clarify which toppings or sides are included so the picture does not suggest a different order.
Where the images will appear
Share your ordering site and delivery channels. Requirements can change; check the current merchant upload instructions before agreeing on exports.
A kitchen contact
Choose one person to coordinate preparation, plate replacement and final presentation. Shooting around a busy service without a plan can waste both food and time.

Scope before surprises.

Menu Shots package. Final dish count, variants, file versions, surfaces and delivery-platform requirements are confirmed in the quote.

Reserve a workable area away from customer traffic and keep a clear path to the kitchen. Confirm who supplies food, surfaces and tableware, and whether a stylist is needed. Signal coordinates photography; menu entry, account management, food preparation and third-party platform approval are separate unless explicitly scoped.

Before you book.

Can we use the same image everywhere?

Sometimes, but check crop, size and content requirements for each destination. Plan a master and appropriate versions rather than cropping blindly later.

Is this affiliated with Uber Eats or DoorDash?

No. Signal is an independent photography service. Your merchant provider may offer its own photography options; check those before booking.

Do you photograph every variation?

Only those agreed in the shot list. A topping, size or packaging change can create an additional deliverable.

The optional $100 priority deposit after intake is credited toward the session but does not reserve a date by itself. A date is secured only after availability, scope, the booking agreement, and the required booking retainer are confirmed in writing.

Consumer packages include personal use, while headshot and model packages include professional self-promotion. Business packages can include website, organic social, recruiting, sales, press, and internal use. Paid advertising, outdoor campaigns, resale, and third-party use are licensed separately.
