At-Home Newborn Photography NYC

The chair where you feed. A tiny hand around your finger. The quiet moment when everyone is finally together. An at-home newborn session can make space for those details without moving your family across the city.

Quoted for your brief

Photographer, scope and delivery agreed before booking

Ask about this shoot

Start with your idea and rough date. We’ll work out the details.

Your first weeks, in the place they happen.

For parents who want simple family photographs and everyday connections in their own space. We discuss a lifestyle approach with the baby supported by a caregiver, rather than promising elaborate posed newborn setups.

Your home is the setting, not a studio installation. We confirm a photographer with relevant newborn work before booking and keep the session responsive to feeding, settling and caregiver comfort.

The photographs have a job to do

A plan built around your brief.

01

Find one comfortable place

Start near useful light with a caregiver seated securely. Tidy the camera's view rather than the whole apartment.

02

Work around your baby

Pause for care and keep transitions limited. The photograph is never more important than comfort or support.

03

Include the small connections

If everyone is settled, add hands, a family frame and a sibling moment with an adult involved. The exact sequence can change on the day.

An apartment-friendly plan

One living-room portrait with a caregiver, a second parent joining, then a close detail of hands can create a coherent story in a small space. A sibling can join briefly before taking a break. This is a suggested sequence, not a timed routine your baby needs to follow.

Three things that help us plan.

Who will be in the photographs
Include siblings, grandparents or another caregiver in the plan from the start. Tell us which relationships matter most and whether anyone needs a seated setup.
A few views of the space
Simple room descriptions or non-sensitive reference photos help discuss light and space. You do not need to redecorate or share identifying documents.
Your pace and boundaries
Share preferences around feeding breaks, close-ups, siblings and privacy. Nothing needs to be photographed simply because it appears on a generic shot list.

Scope before surprises.

Custom newborn quote after we confirm location, participants, breaks and photographer fit. A short family mini session should not be assumed to cover a newborn brief.

Discuss building entry, elevator access and where equipment can safely sit. Clear cables and loose objects from working areas. Do not try unsupported poses from social media, leave a baby unattended on an elevated surface, or use a photography setup as a sleep space. Ask your pediatrician about any individual health concern; rescheduling terms belong in the written agreement.

Prepare a small apartment for newborn photos

Before you book.

Does my apartment need to look perfect?

No. A small comfortable area and a clear view are often enough. We can discuss framing before you spend time preparing.

What if the baby needs to feed?

Plan breaks and ask how they affect the agreed session length. Avoid booking a rigid short slot for a brief that needs flexibility.

Will our photographs be shared publicly?

Discuss your wishes in writing. Booking a private family session should not be treated as permission to publish a case study.

The optional $100 priority deposit after intake is credited toward the session but does not reserve a date by itself. A date is secured only after availability, scope, the booking agreement, and the required booking retainer are confirmed in writing.

Consumer packages include personal use, while headshot and model packages include professional self-promotion. Business packages can include website, organic social, recruiting, sales, press, and internal use. Paid advertising, outdoor campaigns, resale, and third-party use are licensed separately.

Tell us what you’re planning.

We’ll clarify the brief, check photographer fit and availability, and confirm a written scope before you book.
